The 2011/12 edition

The nativity scene at Borgo di Custonaci Scurati back to life every year at Christmas time. For the 29th edition, 2010/2011, the days and hours are the following (last admission at 20.00):

• 25- 26 - 27 December 2011, from 4 pm to 9.00 pm;
• 2 – 3 - 5 - 6 - 7 – 8 January 2012, from 4 pm to 9.00 pm.

As in previous years,  the Crib will consist of a cast of over 160 actors, including artist-craftsmen from all over Sicily and farm hands and local characters as well as hundreds of extras.

Also this year there will be a representation of 'Puppet Theatre (four consecutive performances daily with short intervals). Installed on a small stage not far from the cave, it will, as ever, be the delight of our youngest visitors.

In addition to electric lighting, the event is staged with torches, oil lanterns and citronella candles in terracotta dishes. The magic of this old-fashioned lighting will be complemented by the enchantment of centuries-old music, played by the musicians - bagpipe and flute players from Partanna.

The safety of visitors and actors will be guaranteed throughout the performances by a system of surveillance and control and the permanent presence of the civil protection unit, ambulances and a first-aid doctor.

In order to ensure maximum comfort and convenience for visitors/spectators, and to reduce vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the cave and Borgo Scurati, the following are provided:

• two ticket offices, nearby Crib area;
• snack bars, run by outside interests, just outside the exit from the Crib area.

• children 0 – 2 years : FREE
• Disabled: FREE
• Carers of disabled : FREE

At the time of ticket purchase (online or at the ticket) you must specify the time of entry: 16:00 (first entry), 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 (last input). 
For each hour of input are available up to a maximum of 600 tickets.
